is there a way to estimate the power without a tester?

There are a few tests you can do(I believe the following mW's are required of 532nm to do the following, correct me if im wrong).

Does it pop a black balloon? 50mW+
Does it light a match? 100mW+

Im sure there are other test but Im not confident on how much mW's is needed for other burning & I don't want to give you false information, so I will let someone else answer those.

There is no way the green can be 1W

You will be lucky if the green 532nm is 100-200mw.None of them have an IR filter so a good percentage of the output can be invisible IR also

532 green typically sells for $1/1mw

Most all of the output power on that web site and site similar add an extra zero to the power---so if it is 500mw they claim 5000mw

An LPF member sells an honest 300mw for $199 which is abelow normal low price for a 300mw

Yea $1 per mW for green seems accurate enough.
Though Laserbtb sells the Hl 532nm 300mW lasers for $164 at the moment.
So its also a great deal.

1w green is 900$ no way i could afford that. but according to their prices, for the money i spent, IF the lucklaser green is anywhere in the range of 300mw-400mw its still a fair deal.

that does sound like a better deal since you know what you're getting. I may return it and get that one. very good price.

Haha, yes that would be one idea.
Many forum members here recommend lasers from Laserbtb/Skylasers.
They make very nice high quality lasers.
And all lasers from Laserbtb under 500mW have an FDA pass to get through customs. So if the package ever gets held up, you could email Kevin (the owner) and he will send you the admission key to get your laser package un-stuck.

You were looking at 1W of 520nm, not 532nm. But they are both around the same ball-park anyway :p

well since it is on its way anyway, is there anyone that wouldnt mind testing it for me? preferably in denver area.. no one has commented on this youtube demo for it yet ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynglds9wQ3Q&feature=youtu.be

You can't determine a lasers power by brightness & what it can burn. Sure, you can guesstimate but nothing beats an LPM plain & simple :)

Look here for people with LPM's:

It is probably around 300mW-400mW at that price range.

All of these Chinese companies buy from the same supplier. I actually have contacts in China so I know the wholesale prices +-. They buy a 300mW at around $100-$150.

A true 1W 532nm DPSS laser will cost around $600 from the manufacturer , and only if you buy a few of them.

520nm is the way to go now. Much more stable , and currently it is even cheaper than most 532nm lasers.
