I just got my green DX 150mw.. turned it on for the first time, and I am able to see the equivalent of my 5mw green for a few secs, but it quickly fades to black and dies... I'm hoping it's just the battery that was dead when shipped... is there a special charger for a 18650.. or think there's something else wrong?

Elaborate more? Check the voltage on the battery. Make sure all contacts are good. Which model is this exactly? Try providing a link. You're being very vague so it makes it hard to help you out.

Just order a replacement from DX, they will pay for postage if it's under $15USD.

(Or photoshop the receipt if it was like I did )

damn..thats a really good laser too. i got that one, except it was from KaiDomain. So either your's is suffering the same problem mine did, and the Button was bad. way to know, is the blue LED bright and easily seen? or is there no blue or it is very Dim? it may just be a bad battery they sent you. you need a 3.7V battery if you want it to work properly.

I would bet its the batteries. Charge that thing up!

Any 3.6v lithium charger that is big enough to fit an 18650 should charge it just fine.

Same thing happens with mine except it works for about 5mins continuous after I recharge batteries and then fades to nothing. The blue LED still blinds me though when there is no green :-/

Very weird. It really sounds like a battery/driver issue. Do the lasers have a built in battery protection circuit like the RPL's do? If so, the dual protection (on the batteries themselves, and the laser) could be causing problems. Maybe try with unprotected batteries?
