Don't sweat the lenses! Get some PURE acetone and soak them in there for a few minutes. You can try cleaning your lens pen, but I don't know how effective that would be. As a photographer, I always keep my lens pens closed in a plastic case. You can use 91% Isopropyl to clean the brushes as well. I still cough up the dough for new lens pens once a year or so.

If things are that dire, you can even remove the lenses from the barrels and do the acetone soak, then with POWDER-LESS gloves, use a lens safe, microfiber cloth to polish, then reassemble the lens assembly. Finish off with CO2...not canned air! You don't want to accidentally freeze the lenses.

For anyone interested, this is a service I will provide. IDK if it's worth it to anyone though to pay for shipping...

Shipping a tiny lens within the US probably isn't expensive, so it could be worth it, especially if we don't have pure acetone on hand. All I have access to is nail polish remover with tons of other gunk besides acetone in it :p

If you have a Sally Beauty Supply or something similar in your area, you could get pure acetone there...as well as any hardware store. What do you think is a fair price for cleaning lenses? Clearly, sending many at one time would be more cost efficient.

What a surprise. I got everything put together and it worked fine for a few seconds, and then it died. I'll try to figure out if it was the diode or driver, I'm pretty sure it's the driver though.
EDIT: It was the driver :D Now I need to wait 2+ weeks for a new one...

Dude!?! You killed another driver?? I'd suggest getting away from the flex-drive and use something simple like a linear driver. This build is getting expensive for you!

Nope, the driver's fine, the 18650 is just too short. I stuck some aluminum foil in the bottom and it worked just fine.

i dont trust foil and electrical current. ive seen foil get red hot and melt. id use dimes or magnets over tin foil all day
