It's pretty, though. I'm just not sure if it's $3,500 worth of pretty (actually, I am, and no, it's not.)

I wonder what sort of diode they have in there?

Anyway, for that price, you could have a very nice 8X Blu-Ray, ten times over

Could be a multimode with correction optics, two LOC's combined or an uber military research diode :p

I'm going to bet it is a multimode in there, the LOCs we use aren't rated for near 300mW CW IIRC.

There's no way. There's simply no way... unless it's two diodes with a PBS. And even then, 1.5mm at aperture??

You probably mean a beam combiner. The beam diameter depends on the focal length of the collimating lens.

A LOC with an AR-coated lens will output ~300mW no problem...

Didn't heruursciences use to sell 9mm 635nm 1W diodes? Maybe it's one of them, in a weaker version. Or a c-mount.

Betting about that ..... C-mount with integrated FAC ? ..... they arrive to 1 watt, IIRC.

They are 635nm diodes, I am guessing C-mount. Wicked really know their divergence and beam spex, I wouldn't be surprised if it was really that tight of a beam ....

Well, 3500 $ for a 500mW C-mount ..... let me say, if it's not made in solid 24Kt gold with focusing lenses in optic-grade sapphire, don't worth the effort, imho :p :D

wicked is overpriced as usual. has anyone actually tested the lasers theyve sent out so far? ive seen review after review about how theyre so great and all but i havent seen any graphs yet besides the ones wicked provides. ive said it before and ill say it again. until i see actual proof(graphs/plots etc.) thats NOT provided by wicked my opinion of them stands. over priced and underpowered...

Dang Drew, I totally agree about the overpriced part but there have been a handfull or more members here who have tested the output of the 2010 series with their LPM's and all have had good results. I believe that Wicked has taken care of the "underpowered" aspect of their lasers based on our my and our fellow forum member's testing. They have the nicest bodies too.

i havent read all of the threads as much as i could. ive been way too busy lately and still wouldnt buy from wicked. yes the ouside of them looks cool and all but when you get down to brass tacks, id still prefer something at a lower price that performs the same if not better. if i pay 3500$ for a laser it better do some tricks..

I agree with you there friend, Those price tags are outrageous. With that dough I would much rather buy a 1 watt lab style green laser from viasho, a bunch of CNI GB lasers and still have left over money for hookers.
