Why dosn't my laser burn?

Hello all! I'm new here and this is my first post.

Anyway here are my specs, LPC815 diode running on a DDL driver with aixiz module. My resistors are 10ohm running @ 125ma. I'm powering it off 6v of AA'a.
It is bright and the beam can be seen in the dark but no heat! I think my resistors are setting the ma too low? What do you guys think?

Yeah, I think you're going to need more amperage to the diode.

Are you using a pot along with 2x10ohm resistors?

tune your driver to >200mA and it will burn...but YOU MUST USE GOGGLES WHILE BURNING! i hope you know that already?

You have to build a dummy load and attach the driver...then use a multimeter (get one) and adjust the pot...that's it.
If you don't know how to do that or what i talk about then this is the best moment to try our well known forum search..it is very reliable and convenient to use :D

I have also diode from 16x dvd burner and I set 228mA to the diode and it still isn't burning, when I focus it on match, it just gets hot, but don't ignite

Maybe your focusing lens is drawing to much power!?
Or maybe you need a tripod...or just another laser ;)
I have some low power lasers and one high-power blue...and i didn't even try to burn with the lower powered ones ;)
I tried to get yellow by combining red and green, but with no success...needs alot aligning..0o
If you wannaburn PM wannaburn and get some lasers from him...*hehe*

The LPC 815 diode is normally fed >400mA.
420mA is a good current for ~250mW with a good lens.

Also, in order to burn stuff, the stuff needs to absorb the light. That means dark colors.
If the match tip is red, color it black with a marker and try again.

Edit: Check this graph for an estimate of the output of your laser at a given current:

The diode in the LPC sled is a "long die open can."
228mA should give you less than 150mW of output power.

To keep things simple, dont use a pot. Just use one 3 Ohm res or 2x 6 Ohms res in parallel. That Will give you around 420mA. Dont run your laser more than 20 sec at a time. Let ir cool for 15 sec or so. Heatsinking the module is recommended.

Mybad, it was a focus issue...I got it burning. Although I think I should use 4-6ohm resistors cuz it's a bit underpowered.
