where to buy a 200 mw burning laser in the US!

Hi there,

I'm new to the forums and just want to say hi! I also wanted to know if anyone has any experience with buying a high powered laser in the US.. I tried deal extreme but they won't ship >5 mw to the US (damn laws) so I'm trying to find a place to buy one. I'm looking for a laser (could be green or blu) that will be able to burn things like matches, dark paper, etc. and have a clear visible beam in the day. Thanks for helping!

I do not know what you budget is like, but green or blue are going to be fairly expensive. If red or violet (bluray) are acceptable, I can help.

I'm really interested in the best burning ability and visibility for the money (I'm willing to pay up to 200), really the color doesn't matter but I do think the Blu-Rays are the coolest.

I agree. if you read around the forum a bit, you will see that I spend much more time working with violet lasers than anything else. They burn better, they cause things to fluoresce, and they are a really nice looking color. Violets also burn a much wider variety of colors than red.

I have a good burning red as well, but my violet gets MUCH more work that my red.

Any ideas where to buy a red one? I've checked the forums and the buy-sell-trade subforum and havn't really found one that suits me. I really just want a commercial, finished, product but I can't seem to find a good place to buy one. Do you have any you'd want to part with?

I don't have any finished reds. I have some modules available here

You can assemble your own with just a few solder joints and some assembly.

Beyond that, you are pretty much off to China

for reds.

Listen to daguin,
Follow his advice, Buying one of his ready to go modules.
Then use a host from jayrob or Ehgemus. Both can be found in the buy sell and trade thread.

Or
You can get a dilda which is a great starter laser. I believe most members here, have one. They burn real good and are super cheap.

go to olike.com or type it in at google and they sell a lot of lasers and they have a really cheap one for only 45.99 200 mw free shipping and even comes with batteries and a charger so u never have to buy those expensice batteries ever again.i ordered one and it comes only in 5-7 days.i will make a video on youtube about it.my youtube name is : strapwood .

Check with optotronics. Its based out of colorado, and you'll have it in two days.
