whats a safe setting for this diode

for a

that is head synched and tec cooled

im looking for safe mA input and aprox mW output
this is lab style not pointer

Keeping it cool is the key. Safe is 420mA with a thick heatsink. If you have TEC for your labby, maybe push is up some. I have an open can running at 450mA's with TEC that seems like I can just let it run:

My MXDL lasers that I set at 448mA's with a heatsink, sould be used with a conservative duty cycle. Although I have heard of those who leave it on for 5 minutes or so, I always use a 1 min. on/30 sec. off duty cycle...
