hey everyone i wanted to know a safe current for a LPC 826 diode, i am ordering this driver from ebay 2pcs constant current laser diode driver 80-500mA w/TTL | eBay and i want to know a safe current that wont blow my diode out

The general consensus is keep it under 500ma to be safe.

Set the current on 100mA. That will make it last very long.

You have to decide it for yourself. You see the graph and set the current. I would set it like rocket689 suggest. If it dies buy a new LPC826. They are not expensive diodes.

420~480 is good enough.. It will run at 300+mW perfectly

Depends on what you want to get from the diode , I am using LPC-815's in aixiz which are without heatsink, they dont usually get too much hot before 2~3minutes and works quite well just with aixiz, 2min On and 30Seconds off.. If you want better duty cycle out of it Or want to run it at 500mA+ current u will need that heatsink.. but for shorter duty cycles, no need!
