hey guys I built these for my kids to chase the cat around the house.. I know they are thrown together and craftsmanship is lacking but for a first build with little knowledge on these little six mm diodes i thought they came out well.. I am going to refine the design a bit and see if I can get it to look better but hey for forty five minutes of work i made my girls happy.

6mm diodes your can get on flea bay or fasttech for around two bucks for five you just need a 3-5 v power source.. mine was a double AA battery box from fasttech five for like three bucks or some thing like that and a tactile switch and that is it

ru124t are you being sarcastic or do you actually like the build i can not tell lol ... any way hope to refine the design and build a better model of this out of these little 6mm diodes they are just kind of fun to play around with

No I was truly impressed, no sarcasm . I probably would have painted the container. I kinda build with what I have on hand, and I repurpose lots of things! I truly meant no disrespect.

well I appreciate that you liked my build... I had to find some thing i could mount the diodes in and place the AA battery box in and hmm what did I find pill bottles work great.. your right i probably will paint the bottles on my next build. I would like to try this with a ten to twenty mw diode of some color to see if it can be done.. not all of us have $$$ to throw around but i do not think more than 20mw would be good because of the excess heat

I have found a way to make a really nice pointer out these 6mm diodes... cheap button cell fashlight 1-3 dollars prefer click switch and one of these diodes have to have 3 to 5 v I am doing one with a twist on off and i have it powered on just getting it back together and working is the problem I had to put it down for now will work on it tomorrow and post pics when completed.

i built a new laser with one of my 6mm diodes.. got the host from the dollar store... its a simple twist one off led flash light. Has three button cells for power and a simple switch on the inside to turn off and on. I think it came out clean... Used a old torch to burn a hole in the flash light lens for the diode.. let me know what you think sorry crappy pics with phone again

Oh forgot to mention that these little 6mm diodes are focusable a set of needle nose pliers and a bit of cloth and your fingers can make them focus a lot better than factory
