Value of a HeNe 1-4mW 632nm  laser?

So I have an opportunity to buy a Spectra Physics HeNe 632nm model 142P laser, with a manufacturing date of 1977. It lights up and is in decent condition, though not perfect. According to SAM's FAQ it should have a rating of about 1mW, though on the laser itself it states it is 4mW. Does anyone know what this thing is worth? The price is $100 right now, but will drop over time (like a month). It'd be kind of neat to own an HeNe, but if I could obtain that novelty for cheaper, or have a more recently manufactured one, I might just wait until the price drops.

I don't know about that but I recently got a Spectra Physics 155 He-Ne for $35.00 including shipping manufactured in the late 80's or early 90's in great condition - I guess I got a steal there.

1977? I'd purchase that, just for the history!

i got a HeNe tube from wannaburn for $5 plus shipping, but that doesn't include the power supply

in terms of the nostalgia effect I can't really put a price on it, but you can get them for less than $100

Hmm, good to know... I think I'll wait for a few weeks for the price to go down. If it's like 60-80% off it'll probably be worth it. The problem for me is that I get the things, and then they just sit around because, honestly, there's really little use to these lasers for me at least.
