Can you please resize your photos? There is no reason any of those photos should be larger than 800px wide.

WOW ! you don't see that everyday ! :gj:
this could easily heatsink a much powerful laser

awesome build i have an lpc 826 on 550mA in a host with good heatingsinking
(not as good though)

looking forward to seeing more of this kind

tnx friends
You mean we can drive lpc826 with 550mA without to destroy it?The problem as you can see is not the heat, the problem is how much current can the same diode to hold out.

Wow, this looks like madmax meets EpIII StarWars. Interesting design. No doubt this laser will be well cooled.

This thread puts a smile on my face. Awesome build man. Just more proof you dont always have to dish out big bucks to tinker with fun hobbies. Keep up the good work:beer:

yes ! i've set it to 550mA and tested it for 5 mins. NO PROB ! The diode is drivable if the heatsinking is good is what i can conclude here

What a funny build awesome :gj:

If you drive the diode with more than 500mA it will not increase much in power and eventually it will die:

http://laserpointerforums.com/f50/lpc-826-current-72469.html

So if no power is really gained from going above 500mA, then you should just run it at that for long life.

With that heatsink you could go for M140 and push it to 2W easily.

mmmm so i 'll let it at 500 mA, it's enough for this diode. I wish i had a M140 i'll a make a great project but it's veeeery expensive!

Awesome steampunk deathray host!!! Nice work on this creative project. Your next build should be quite interesting.

I drove my LPC to 550 from 510 the gain was with the resultant rise in power being 320-346. :)
