Almost .5W through acrylic? Ouch... Great little laser you built there, it's amazing how many hosts the Mohrenberg's focus ring perfectly fits. I'll post pics of my build, I used my experimental buck driver - so it runs from a single li-ion.

I guess I'm outta the loop. I've no clue who either of those are.

Kenom, you could also try rayfoss.

O-like, rayfoss, and lazerer.com are all carrying the 300mW diode now as well.

CajunLasers is a new guy named Clif. He's good though - people were skeptical at first, but I think he has proven his reliability. I've ordered the 635s from Rayfoss, DTR, and CajunLasers. It's all the same diode. I believe DTR and CajunLasers (Clif) are just bulk-buying from Rayfoss anyway.

CajunLasers has the best price right now, and Clif is in the US so you'll have the diodes faster than with Rayfoss or O-Like. DTR is also US, more established than CajunLasers (Clif), but DTR seems to be out of the diodes right now.

IMO, you can't go wrong with either DTR or Clif. Rayfoss and O-Like are also legit - but they're going to take a lot longer to get the diodes to you, and they seem to be more expensive anyway.

Noone questions their trustworthiness :) You just didn't mention them so I thought I should. At least one of them. Oh and, since when does o-like offer them? :O

I appreciate the update.. I don't like buying from unknowns so i figured I'd ask. I like to know who I'm sending my money too when possible.. I'll take yer referral as a positive :) Needless to say, it's a nice diode and a nice build. is the diode multimode like the 445's?

But - still a really pleasing build to have in your pocket.

BTW. There are even more powerful 635s (spec sheet is 66% higher power) on the reasonably near horizon (probably a month or so out? who knows, I get different answers from O-Like all the time).
