The C-mount is a type of diode casing. FAC means Fast Axis Correction. That is a thin glassfiber in front of the diode aperture to correct the fast axis of the beam. The result of this correction is usually a square beam as Lazeerer shows it in the picture.

What is the use for such beams? I mean in the normal world... not for us. Projectors, labs..??

Ohhhhh my. The projector applications for this.
Two with a PBS = easy 8W of red?

How much are these diodes!

Whoa... I want. *goes to google*

You can goggle till you pass out. You wont find these i have.:)
Though you will find some 5W diodes selling for $2,000-$3K. Maybe more and those are not branded but remakes. For branded like mine well double that.

I guess you can spend the money like i did to do the reserch and testing on alot of red WL c-mount diodes to get to this point like i did.:)

Iam all for doing testing on your own.

Ill let you find your own since your so eager too do so.;) My price is probably too low anyway.

I look forward to your findings.

@awillis2589

Yeah these truly are Monsters. Scary POWER. I have not come across a Visible Wavelength diode that can take this currant "Safely" Only IR diodes.

The beam is super bright. Its the brightest red ive seen to date and most of you know iam big red lover.

Luckily these are not so hard to get for me and well within range in price.:)

I wont do another GB anytime soon.(The last one was hell for me) But just contact me if you want one. I can get them any time pretty much and in singles.:)

Iam sure anyone that would want one would be OK waiting the 1 week or so for them to arrive to me from time of order if i dont have any in stock since its within the US.

Ill let the 2 extra ones i have now here go for $375 each + Shipping.:) I only bought 5 at first and 3 are already gone. 1 is for me.:D Though i cant say if that will be the all time price since i think he gave me the sample price. Not sure but thats ~10 Cents a mW.

I know Mitch is Drooling. He loves read as much as i do.:D

A couple close up beam shots. Running the diode at 3W here:

What else you guys want to see.:)?

Oh I just remembered i also have some TEC's that are designed for diodes and have a hole in the middle. Perfect for C-Mount diodes for the screw to go down the middle and screw into the cold plate. (Or use them with Low Power Can like diodes)

It keeped my 1W 650 cool at 5 -10 C at full power currant going to the diode in a small heatsink host. (Size of one of those 400mW 532nm fire dragon like hosts)

Iam not sure if they will be able to keep these diode that cold but maybe hold them at ~20C-25C room temp which would also be good and what you see my results in the video where at.:)

@styropyro Your Welcome.:)

@ARG Price at the moment is above for the 2 i have.:)

$375 a pop? Tempting...oh so tempting...

+ Shipping. :D

Yes for the 2 i have here i will let them go for $375 only because the price i got them for.

I think Normal price If i remember correctly was $400.

you scared the crap out of me saying $2-3k for these! if a diode is really under $400 then that is much better!!!!

Well I want to play with these. I take one. :takeit:
That would make my PL650-1000 obselete. :)

If 2-3K scares you then you have been spoiled with all the Pulled and cheap comoon diodes we have theses days like the 445 and 638 mitshubishis.

LOL. I remember when a PHR-803T was 75$ and a 12x was 400$.

Even the PS3. 20mW diodes where super expensive.

Hey i love being spoiled.:D

oh yeah this hobby has come a LONGGGGGGGGGG way since the first lasers. i read old posts of how expensive those diodes were and i cringe. thank god for technological advances and lower cost of production these days!

BTW +1 coming for this diode info

Blord you might be too late for one of these 2. Ill send you a Pm with details. But ill take care of you regardless."

(Someone asked for both already.)

But like i said i can get more delivered in 1 week.:)

Did you test it with a G lens ? I don't know if it even possible to get the laser in focus with such small lens.
And is the diode case positive or negative ?

PM Sent.

Huh.? What do you mean did i use a G2 lens.

LOL You cant use a G2 lens. You have to use a Long FL lens. (I gave you the link in Pm with the one i used)

This diode has a FAC on it.

FAC'ed diodes use a long FL lens to collimate the beam with little power lose.

You can only use Short FL lens on NO FAC diodes.

Case + like all 650 are.:)

This is how your PL650 is setup.

Its the Diode with FAC on it then they use a Long FL lens to colimate the corrected beam. Its very easy to do to be honest.

Look at my beam shot picutres.

Thats my quick test setup and gives a nice beam."For what this diode is"

You see the diode in the heatsink and then 50mm away is the lens.

Thats all it takes.:)

You can use a shorter FL lens or play around with more optics but to be honest 50mm FL and the lens i linked is pretty nice.:)
