What I do for insane macros on diodes is I used my phone's camera and stick a 3-element 445nm AR lens backwards directly on top of the camera's lens and get super crazy close to the diode. I am able to get shots like this with that method:


I have gotten better ones if I take more time to carefully focus but those came out fairly well in the rush I was in to take them at the time.
