We listed this G84 diode laser as "1.6W~1.8W" on our new store since it's opened.

The problem with this diode is, although it does capable to put over 2W of power, when using in a handheld device, the focus lens cannot absorb/collect all the light from the diode because of the bad beam divergence.

The highest output we can push this diode on a handheld device is about 2W but it would generate as much heat of a NDB7A75 diode.

From the distance you metered it, the lpm did not seems to have full contact of the beam and since the laser is using G7, there should be a upgrade on the output if you switch to G2 lens, it should be at least 1600mw or more as we advertising.

Even at 1.45w, the diode has sending out 2W of power already. You can meter the raw output from the diode to check that.

Normally, this laser should be doing 1.6W with G7 lens, the switch might be responsible for this problem.

If you want any help or solution, you can pm me or contact us via this email: sanwulasers@gmail.com.
Thanks for the lengthy reply and advice. Customer care is everything, especially a good customer. Thanks again Podo

I believe the largest capacity 18650's to be 3500mah at this time. Anything higher is just a rewrap with overstated specs. Be very careful with off brand cells. Illumsupply has the best cells you can get for around $10 a cell.

.
Why not source a wider diameter lens that will collect all the light? It could be done I think without much retooling.

Default Re: Sanwu Silver series 2.5W Tri Beam HELP!

I agree that the explanation for output and confusion on the website response is good and am wondering at the output closer to the sensor. I would highly suggest Sanwu add a statement about lens choice explaining simply how they will affect the beam and output power right where the lens choice is selected. The advertised power must be measured with a lens in place regardless of raw output.
I don't think it would be cost effective with he low volume of sales on the dual or Tri beam lasers. DoEs the tri-beam laser have equidistance beams? I think it's a fascinating diode.

Na no restrictions here buddy, I got a Panasonic NCR 18650 with my 3.5W Arctic 3. It seems to last longer and charge faster ect than all the cheaper brands. They're good yeah? Yeah I'm gona be careful what I put into the lasers now as these things cost 100's and are not cheap!! Have to be more careful. Thanks for the response
