i am planning to build a red laser using these diodes at rayfoss.com www.rayfoss.com
i am also planning to make the ddl driver but when i looked at the plans i hit a problem ( I think). I'm not sure whether the resistors need to be 1/4 or 1/2 watt.
please put up a schematic for a complete begginer if u must.

there is a schematic...
and its EASYYY to make...
just use this
LM317 Current Calculator - Electric Circuit
type in how much mA you want it at... (for red probably around 400mA would still be OK)
and it will calculate what resistor you need and how many Watts it has to be

so using 1/2 watt resistors would be good? i am aiming for around 340mA
