I can only afford the batteries at the moment the charger should be fine, I just think its the batteries cause they were fully decharged before they were posted.

That will do it. Its important to not let the voltage go below 3.6v with these batts.

Its hard to tell really - a company that would ship you dead batteries might not be very keen on the quality control of their chargers either.

I brought the laser as a pack with charger and batteries from a member here, But since he told the post office there was batteries in there they said they can't be posted unless they are decharged so that's what they did, Abit of common sense would have helped i'm sure he knew they are ment to be decharged but oh well that happens.

Another thing to be sure of make sure that the charger you are using charges to 4.2v per cell. I had one that would only charge up to 3.8v and the laser would very quickly drop power.

Well it powers for about a minute then just goes to a led but since i brought some new batteries non rechargeable its perfect got a good 5 mins + so far i might be better off waiting till i can afford both.

Battery problems are my biggest headache with lasers. Going dead sitting for 2 weeks, not charging, low run times, etc.
Now I need to find a couple 10180's, looked on e-bay=nothing, fricking unbeliveable, not a single one listed.
I'm going to hardwire up all my lasers to my variable PSU and forget about batteries. Might need a 200' roll of wire so I can use them outside but, no more battery worry's.LOL

I don't know if 10180's are commercially available. There was a guy over at PL that was selling them.

**EDIT** Here's a place that says that they have 10180's in stock

Thanks, Dave. You must have a better search engine then I do, I could not find any. +1 for the find:yh:
Edit: It won't let me give you + rep. for some reason. I'll try again later, Thanks

Somehow taping a good old 18650 or CR123 to the side sould seem so much more practical ;p

You've probably got to "spread some rep around" before you rep me ;)

Peace,

I used them in a 6x GGW build and they work perfect. I even bought the 123a's for my 8x and they work great. The charger that came with my 123a cells only charged to 3.8v. I thought it was a bit odd that a 3.6 nominal volt battery would only charge to 3.8 volts. I mentioned this to the seller and his reply was that they are rated to a 3.8 volt charge. I thought that was stupid because I need 8 volts for the rkcstr driver. I threw the batts on my DX ultrafire li-ion charger and charged them to 4.2v. They are still working perfect, after 6-8 charges.

Dave, there's a caveat on that page:

PLEASE NOTE, THESE ARE 3.6 VOLT PHOTO LITHIUM BATTERIES AND ARE INTENDED FOR CAMERAS AND NOT INTENDED FOR OTHER APPLICATIONS INCLUDING FLASHLIGHTS.

That's a bit odd... but maybe these are out-of-spec, high internal resistance, or ?

DanQ

The CR2 (rechargeables) comes in a 3V (3.6V fully charged) and a 3.6V (4.2V fully charged) package. For lasers, the 3.6V package is better.

With CR2's you not only have to make sure you got the right voltage, but that you got the right charger as well.

Primary (non-rechargeable) CR2's are only 3V.

Peace,
dave
