Hi everyone! I'm pretty new to the forum, so if this question has already been answered, I'm sorry. However, I haven't found any reviews.
www.rayfoss.com
Does anyone have any info on this laser? I ordered today, does anyone own it? If so, will you tell me how good it is? I'm talking how good is build quality, burning ability, waterproofing, size/quality of heatsink, etc. I talked to Faona, she was very responsive, and answered all my questions. However, there is no substitute to hands-on experience. Thanks!:)

Any info is appreciated! Will post a detailed review when it arrives, I haven't seen any on the forum.

I got this laser the other day, but haven't metered it yet, so i didn't want to post a review.
Here's a few pics:

Focusing head assembly:

Rayfoss is using a glass (coated) aperture window, and I have already chipped mine. I would prefer the plastic window like my rayfoss w/p bluray.
underwater:

Beamshots:

There is a bit of sidespash from the beam.
Smoke and a mirror:

It lights sharpied matches quickly, it is case-negative,
it never gets hot (even after 10-minutes constant-on), and is truly waterproof.
But once in a while, the front head-assembly seems to become slightly loose and may let water in if not checked before submersion.
For the price, it's great. But I think it isn't quite perfect.

Thanks! How long did shipping take? It's been about two weeks, but I haven't gotten any shipping info or emails.

Hmm... If it's been 2 weeks since you ordered, and haven't got shipping info. You should probably email Faona and ask about a tracking number.

Sometimes my lasers take almost 17 days from the date I place the order with Rayfoss to arrive at my house in California.
Sometimes 3 days to get the order processed. Another day or so for the tracking info to be sent out. Then about 10 more days for it to arrive in the US, and usually 3 or so more days to get through customs, to your local Post Office, then to the delivery address.
You should Email Faona (rayfoss.com@hotmail.com) with your order number, and ask if they have shipped yet, and ask them to send you your tracking number.

I have...I've heard good things about rayfoss, and faona was really really nice when I was asking some details of the laser, so I don't think I've been ripped off. I asked about the tracking number a few days ago..no reply. Maybe the order got lost?..

Hi eveyone! So. My laser's at the post office. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow, and probably post a review Thursday. Unfortunately, I have lots of schoolwork to do tomorrow and Wednesday, but thursday I should be able to. It'll be a detailed review!

they both say 200mW, so theyll both be around that. however, the gray one will have much longer battery life.

coworker just bought a 30 or 50mW green waterproof rayfoss. Do you think that it would be sealed the same way?

Nice picture review, ash

Can someone that has this laser measure the tail cap current? I just got mine, and it doesn't burn... At all. I measured the tail cap current to be ~260mA. :wtf:

im thinking about getting the one in post 1, or this one.
www.rayfoss.com

the one above states how deep you can go with it down the water...
and seems more well-builded?

Some advice please :)

The one you linked to seems quite well built. The tail cap seems like it may be too loose to be submerged, but I have not tried it, and I am sure a new o-ring would fix that.

Well, it seems like the first one is driven at a higher current (550) while the first one is 450ma I think. Either way, even 450mA for 200mW of red is a lot.

Why is it driven so high when it is only 200mW?
