quick question please help

i made a red burning laser and it messed up so i took it apart and try to solder new wires but when i put it together the switch change because before you needed to push the switch for the laser to show and now if you push it the laser goes away and the battery holder heats up super fast what did i do wrong please help :-?

You have a short circuit to the case somewhere.

it sounds like electric circuits are new for you?
if so, I'd suggest some basic learning/experimenting. You'll save a lot of time and money if you get a basic background before trying laser-making.

You can start with just a switch, some batteries, light bulbs etc.... or better yet, find a kit that has different "lessons" with simple things to build. Someone else will probably be able to point out a good place to buy that... right, someone?

You'll find laser-building to be a lot more fun whn you don't have to guess about what goes where, and why!

here's a kit that looks good, and Goldmine is a good place to buy parts too.

I think American science & Surplus has some... maybe... if not, you'll find something fun there ;-)
