I was wondering if is there any alternative about to the conventional Aixiz or other brands housings? I mean, can i house my diode on other kind of housing, or even make my own?

I wouldn't recommend it because the housings are fit really tight to wisp away heat from the diode, if it isn't efficient Enough the diode will over heat very quicky and die out. To tight would crush the diode, to loose wouldn't transfer the hear.
Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

So better be good if I got a very efficient heatsink... mmmm

A side question. How can i messure the mW and the ma of a driver?

For the mW you will need a LPM which are kind of expensive, the mA, you just need a test load or you diode connected to the driver and use a multimeter to test the mA going across the pins.

The mW is the output power. It is how much the laser is outputting. You will need an LPM, and then you shine your laser in the sensor, and it tell you the mW. For the mA, all you need is a test load, and you connect it to the driver, and measure the mA by setting your DMM to mV. Rckstr sells test load that use a 1 ohm resistor, so 1mV = 1mA.
