Pulsar duty cycle?

Does the Pulsar have a duty cycle? Has anyone burned one out? I don't see how they could have much heatsinking but maybe they are protected by their low current.
Thanks! Chris

I ran mine for about 5 minutes once and started to get some mode-shifting, but that could have been the batteries. I tend to keep my space cool when I'm using lasers, heat really seems to affect their performance more than anything.

If you do happen to find a duty limit, please let us know! (Hopefully you won't have to fry yours to find out!)

CC,
I don't have one yet.  Just thinking about getting one down the road.  I've read concerns about the lack of regulation and was wondering if it had actually been a problem for anyone.

Thanks, Chris

Just make a laser yourself, it's a lot cheaper and will be much MUCH better than a pulsar. ;)

I have a Streamlight Stylus Pro (2aaa, 1/2 watt LED, forward clicky tailcap) that I'm going to try to mod when my SenKat diodes arrive. The "+" and "-" leads are marked and I'm going to try a straight swap like the River Rock mod. I also have a River Rock 2aaa to mod. I'm hoping one will work but my soldering skills are pretty primative!

Andy, did you use a driver for your 220mW Laser? :-/ 2 AAA direct drive will only give me 230mA. I try using the LeadLight driver, but it only output 1.75v to the LD.

Interesting...I did not know red diodes had the problem of mode shifting???

Yeah, you're right. I guess it's just my generic term for the beam being disrupted, flickering or fading. My bad.

I keep forgetting this audience really knows the guts.
