Thanks SBA, that's a good thing to know. Your Kryton build is a good example. I'm really surprised by the power out of that skinny heatsink.

But they often allow you to get away with higher currents though...?
I understand it may last less long the higher the current. No confusion over that is there?

The heatsink is only to cool your diodes. If you over-drive them like we do, it means a shorter life span...period. Yes, the heatsink draws heat from the diode, which is helpful, but when you punish them the way we do, death is eventually imminent.

That's not to say you cannot have many of hours of enjoyment from your diode, but you're basically forcing an alchoholic double-fisted drinks with 4 fingers of bourbon in the glass...

I've been drinking...how many more metaphors can I come up with!?! Lol

I have one..
I can stuff 20 marshmallows in my ten marshmallow mouth but the gag reflex ..... whens that gunna occur
