Phasor Red - Is this a freak or not?

I bought three Phasor Red diodes a year or so ago,

I assembled one into a MXDL with a jayrob heatsink, a rckstr driver, aixiz glass lens.

I've been running it on and off since then, maybe a dozen full charges on the battieries to dead

When I first ran it I got a 248 on the LPM-1

Last couple weeks I've been fooling around with my lasers again a lot, so I ran another test on it

253.8 peak and average over a couple minutes of 247-248.

Tonight I tested without the lens and it was 335.2 peak.

That seems like an awful lot for one of those phasor diodes. I remember at the time people told me to run it on a lower ma setting because it wouldn't handle that power for long.

i just hadn't heard anyone else posting much about these diodes in ages. Everyone jumped on the Long Open Can Wagon.

forgot to mention I used artic silver all over between the Aixiz housing and the heatsink

I have a Phazor at 333mA's and putting out 236mW's through an AR coated acrylic from Virtual Village...

It gave 215mW's with AixiZ acrylic at this current. Very close to Dr. Lava's graph!

If I remember correctly, I'm running this at 350ma

But what gets me is the output without a lens. I was amazed and its been rock solid since I put it together.

It also means, I'm losing 25% to the glass lens. Even then, it's at the top of the graph

I guess I can't complain.

That sounds about right. I have compared the Meredith glass lens with AixiZ acrylic. (and many others)

With reds, you will see a 20% increase in power using Meredith glass vs AixiZ acrylic. For AixiZ glass, you will see about 4 or 5% increase vs AixiZ acrylic.

That's why I decided to have a Meredith glass fit for AixiZ modification!  Because there are many red builds out there with AixiZ modules. And some builds are only fit for AixiZ. Like the awesome Kryton.
