It runs from 2 TR10440 batteries, so 7.2v, as there is not much of a heatsink it gets warm quite quickly....not too bad though, there was enough time to light a couple of matches before it felt warm.
It isn't quite finished (too cold in the workshop tonight) I will make an aluminium shroud, to focus it, which will cover the end of the Aixiz module, where it sticks out.
i was going to get a few but the ones u posted they wount ship to the us lol all well i found a awsome br host i will post it in a week or so but nice job rog8811
That's awsome rog, I never thought you could fit a DDL driver inside an aixiz housing, I bet if you had used SMD parts you could've fitted the whole thing inside.
I was too impatient on this one, I ordered some Tantalum capacitors from ebay....he sent me electrolytics, I may have managed to get it all inside the Aixiz if I had waited for the replacements :.
The LM317 is cruelly cut down, tab cut off, sides filed down, middle leg cut off flush and input leg cut to a stub....It still works fine though .
The host torch is from Ebay, I have been looking at the idea of making a kit of parts for the blue ray ( You could attempt the red with SMD as chido says) as follows.
Modified barrel with tail cap and clicky switch (it is not the nicest feeling clicky in the world but it does the job)
Aixiz module with isolator and battery contact button
You just need to add your LD, Circuit and a pair of TR10440 batteries from DX.
I could do it for $40 (£20) ...I would need to find out how much postage to the US would be though. Let me know if you are interested.
