@ Woo It is AAA size, slightly longer than a DX greenie but also slightly smaller in diameter than a DX.

The only downside to the focusing sleeve is that it is harder to gauge how warm it is getting but I like the look of it better than having the module sticking out of the front.

@ chido In the last couple of days a couple of really small drive circuits have appeared on the forum that would make this very doable without the need to extend the Aixiz module......

it is possible that micro sized ones are coming *HINT* *HINT*, that fit in the aixiz with plenty of room to spare....

Although I can envisage these really small drivers being ok for blue-ray use, will the smd regulators be able to handle the sort of current used for the senkat reds without overheating very quickly?

Yes they will... :p I don't know if its the one you're talking about but my rev 2 drivers are gonna be 100% SMT and tiny as, and probably capable of about 400-500mA drive current. :D

:) so building high powered reds into large flashlights will soon be a thing of the past.

It's funny I just posted on another thread saying that my builds were getting smaller every time, I remember my first SenKat red, I thought I had done well to fit everything into this...... ;D

It is a torch I found on ebay..... there is picture of it on my blue ray thread.

I have been trying to find the original manufacturer but have had no joy yet, I have e-mailed a company in china to see if they do anything similar. They say minimum order of 500 units though so I doubt I can bulk buy them to bring the price down.

No blue, I am NOT talking about your drivers ;D ;D ;D

this guy has told me not to get people all excited, just in case he changes his mind about doing a GB. I got to do the testing though ;D ;D


very nice stuff, and a LOT smaller than your drives blue...
