Which one of these laser modules would do better?

Bother lasers are from DealExtreme:

Laser 1: Red Laser Module - Focused Dot (3.5V~4.5V 9mm 5mW), productnr.: 5900, price: $3.11

Laser 2: Genuine New Wish 5mW Red Laser Module (5V 2-Pack), productnr.: 10091, price: $4.62 ($2.31 for 1)

The power source for one laser module will be 5V, 20mA.
The distance it has to give a good focused spot is max 10 feet (3 meter).

While they are both kind of mediocre compared to some of the red pointers on DX, I'd go with the NewWish. They tend to hold up a little better than the other alternatives.

Well, the price isn't the most important factor since they're both cheap :)

I'm afraid the focus of the New Wish modules won't be sharp enough and the other module has an option to focus the laser.

Anyone here with experience with these lasers?
Or some information that confirms the quality?

just order a module from hightechdealz

its cheaper and free shipping also

faster to get here too

It's not cheaper and there's not much bulk discount like DX...

But I've seen something that fits my budget:
'Sure Laser Module Housing - 5mW laser diode included' (hightechdealz.com)

How would the quality of the focus be compared to the modules from DX?

Well..... since they are so cheap.... you could perhaps get one of each and do a review for us
right here on the forum about the "quality of the focus"... :cool:

hehe, can't order all three :( It's for a project at school... so the costs are for my school ;)

But I will order the modules from hightechdealz soon...
So I'll post some kind of review in a while... maybe in 3 weeks? depends on the delivery and the time I get it working ::)
