I got my first laser in the early nineties, a Laserex LP2000 and later updated it to an AV. It doesn't have nearly the same output it used to and I'm wondering if there's any chance of fixing it. Tried a few different sets of AAAA's that checked out on the voltmeter with no luck. Next step is to try AA's I guess. Thanks for your help.

This happened with my old greenie that I purchased in 2002. Look at the driver board when you push the button. Does it sag under the pressure of the button?

I would have to open it some how to see that. I would rather not mark up the body trying (does anyone know how they come apart?). But the side button seems to engage completely.

Just take off the end cap where you insert the batteries...
