Opnext HL6388MG 250mW 635nm red laser diode [OL-635OP-250] - $60.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce

Man Where is RayFoss and O-Like getting these From.

High Power ~635nm Diodes are popping up lately and We need to find the Source.

Iam Looking like Crazy and even asked my supplier and they are looking into it but I am Stumped for now.:(

Although the HL6385DG are not as cheap they are single mode diodes as well as O-like is selling them Little cheaper then Avnet.

The HL6388MG are Multi mode and way cheaper at o like then Avnet.

Don't expect the 6388s to have a magical output power much above spec though - DTR has one, and I've played with one as well. You might see 200mW out of them, but from memory, they LED fairly easily much above that.

+1 i emailed rayfoss asking where they get they're red diodes and they havent replied.... its been almost a week :p

Yeah I Remember that thread. However im More Looking for where are they getting them From.

140$ a diode? I may have to make room for a red laser in my projector.

Your Better off getting the One RHD has:

HL63133DG

Opnext HL63133DG, - Avnet Express

Its a Little More Expensive but has More Power and a Lower Wavelength.:) Its also Single Mode.

I figure you want Single mode in your projector as the 300mW Mitsubishi are not good enough after correction correct.? I know very little on projectors.

Thanks for pointing that out! +1 (Edit: When I can)
I thought the 640's were around 400$ each... Hopefully I can turn my GB to an RGB now :D

Definitely want single mode for a projector, I used prisms for my 445, and it was a pain to align/mount.

well the 300mw ones with that magical lens that andy is using once thats found those reds will be great!

I'm actually going to sell that diode, or do a custom build with it if someone wants. I took it out of the guidesman already.

I really am trying to limit my laser collection down to one, maybe two (if there's sentimental value) of any particular wavelength.

What lens / build is this ? Link ?

I believe it's an Optima lens. PL use those for reds as they offer the best divergence/beam diameter while maintaining power.

1 or 2 WTF :confused::confused::confused::confused:

I realize that came across wrong.

I meant that for something like 445, I just can't part with a couple builds I have put together over time. Like the Blue Ninja, or the Ancient Light. So I'm keeping maybe 2 or 3 of the 445s I've built out of sentimentality. So for something like 445, there are a few that I just couldn't part with.

But I really want to pair things down to just a single laser in each wavelength (of the wavelengths I have now).

That's all. I didn't meant to suggest that something exotic like the 556nm was "like one or two of them, you know, whatever". Not in a million years ;)
