So I got a project box at radioshack and built an LM317 driver with a 25 ohm rheostat... got 6 switches... got a FREE DIODE from a local pc repair shop (ask nicely for an old/broken dvd rw drive), wired it up and... pew pew pew!!! First really good looking build and I hope you guys like it.

The two switches at the top are: left- constant on/off, right- momentary.

The toggle switches are: left- fan, right- safety

The bottom switch is constant on/off illuminated (pretty cool). It serves as a safety switch and emergency shutoff.

That hole in the back I had drilled for a smaller potentiometer that I didn't end up using. I'll cover it with a warning label.

Nice little build there! Plenty of functions too and I like the safety precautions.

Be careful shining lasers into a camera though. A higher power may well permanently burn the CCD. The little black dot close to the centre of the beam spot looks like the pixels are overloaded. Any more power and they could have died. Just a cautionary note for your next build with more power! ;)

Great stuff and thanks for the photos too!
