What about the divergence? :p

Notice how wide the aperture window is. It's quite massive when you compare it to the 445nm 9mm diodes.

Despite that I have high hopes for this one. We are in need of a multiwatt single die red diode :)

Features 1) Highest recorded output power of 1.8 W at 638 nm at continuous wave operation due to improved LD structure - Achieves high output power in this package size due to the optimization of its layer structure and emitting-region size

I'm guessing a bigger bar.

Hi powered, made for projectors- the output wiill be complete shite. I wouldnt be surprised in the least if its worse than the p73

Still, by the time this is out the price of the 1W 520s will be down and we will see someone make a full RGB in the 8 watt range with 9mm diodes. Seems pretty exciting to me. I just might be the one to put together an 8W analog selectable color handheld

Sucks that these diodes are made with projectors in mind. Otherwise we would have some really powerful singlemode output lasers

I'm surprised techood doesn't have it in his page. I wouldn't mind being the first guinny pig but the only LPM I have is a radiant x4 and for testing purposes I would think an ophir head would graph better. I'll put in for a group buy or murder fund.

im very interested in this diode, I wonder if that beamq site actually has them in stock? I would put in on a GB!,
