Yea...It is all TS's fault !! haha

Even though this 1.8W 638nm Baloney seems to be BS !!! ...and " Phelonious Photon Phog"...We have gone slightly off track !!! I would speculate that..if anyone can get the 1.8W 628nm...Jordan will pull it outa his hat ! Yikes, perhaps it has worse divergence than the P-73 Bad Boy !

TS...let us "pick up our marbles " and move to the Optics area !! I would hope this topic is of interest to many members !:san::san::san:

Sure is been following you guys. Trying to figure out the best way to correct multiple NDB7A75s.

Oh well ill wait until the next thread.

Any more news on the 1.8 watters?

Hey Guys! I Emailed helen at beamq about 4 months ago asking about the 1.8W mitsi. diode on there website, she has just emailed me now saying this diode is now available, after exchanging a few emails she came back with a price of $199USD even though i stated i am not rich enough ATM, I was mainly asking for datasheets as i wondered if this may actually be the "Double beam in one can" 638nm diode we seen last month, today there website has new Photos which do "Sort of" look like it will produce one beam, the photos were not there yesterday..
Anyway i just thought i would share,

Maybe if these datasheets come through and everything looks legit someone may setup a Murder fund or GB giveaway etc

Thanks for the update Rydordie. Hm data sheets can be hard to come by, on previous diodes there wasn't a datasheet for quite sometime. The diode shows up in the wild and someone here on LPF tests them. The diode I'm thinking of was the blue 462 NDB 7675, or the M462. Iirc, someone correct me if I am wrong.

If they are available someone will get one sooner than later. Great news if it follows through.

Anyway good news! thanks 4sharing

That Huge Diode window does scare me a bit with regards to beam specs,
but any clarity about this diode would help me sit back down in my seat...
GB/Murder fund....... hint hint:whistle:

Hell, even if it is the double beam, I'd be in for the GB/giveaway/murder fund. I kinda liked the double beam one we saw here recently. I wouldn't mind contributing in order to give the community more knowledge. I know I've sure got my fair share of knowledge from LPF and it's members!

I'd like to think that 1.8W is being safe seeing the lasing threshold is 700mA. I wonder if 3.5W can be really be achieved with this 9mm 638nm with a G2 or G9 lens.... See, now I want/need one.

Agreed, Now who has a LPM and bench supply? and is keen to follow up this lead with BeamQ? hmmmm

EDIT : Now After Searching a Little i have strong belief this is the Double beam Diode, Here Are 3 Links From LPF, BeamQ and techhood , check the Pics

Just got a reply from my supplier that had those two headed beasts and they said this looks to be the same diode.

Guys, can anyone explain me what a "two headed" diode means in practice?
I checked the video from one of those links and it seems two, completely separate red beams shooting at different angles.
Can it be fixed with a pair of lenses like for wide beams?
Or is this a different issue and such diode is useless for getting a single powerful beam?
