Cancel it asap. EMS is VERY LIKELY to get your laser taken by customs.

Mine is still pending and I was one of the first that ordered it. Hopefully you can stop it being shipped. You may want to also start a support ticket and tell them that you don't really want to cancel, but just change the shipping to AirMail. That way you don't lose your "place in line" in case they are already back-ordered on this unit. It will also give you one more chance that someone will phone the shipping warehouse and tell them to keep an eye out for your address. DX has been very helpful to me, so hopefully you will get the same service.

Cheers, CC

The first one of these I ordered is now in the "packaging phase" The other two I ordered a day later are still in the pending phase.

I wander how good they are. Last time I had 200mW were two from spymodex, very nice units with good heat sink, but too much current so both of them died within 5-6 weeks.
I don't see sufficient heat sink size built into this model (not even close), so guys (whoever ordered this unit)be careful how long you keep it on. Watch for heat and avoid it.

those 200 mw diodes dont even get warm at all except when u keep em on for  5-10 minuts
have never had any problems regarding heat with any red diode except the 400 mw open cans

im not realy impressed by these pointers

the diode is most likely 655-660 nm and overdriven
All of mij home made pointers wil do more then 200 mw
and my tec cooled open can wil do 380 mw

but for that kind of money u cant realy go wrong

If your hommade pointers run at 200 mW CW, aren't they overdriven as well? The diodes for dvd writers usually don't have a CW rating over 130 mW, and i guess the DX product uses such diodes too... although it remains to be seen which ones exactly.

I hope they are constructed in a what that allows exchanging the laser diode though, which could potentially allow you to even install an open can and adjust drive current accordingly.

Yay! Mine finally says "shipped", but if past experience is anything, a lot of you will get yours before mine anyway. Usually takes 14 days to get to me. IgorT just got his DX200 in a few days. Pays to be on the same continent I guess... :)

If these are anything like the greens, they will be poorly built, but still worth the cost. The greens have a number of different driver boards used in them, and shoddy careless manufacturing. Many of the greens mode hop, due to faulty crystals, or are even DOA in at least one case. However the prices is really unbeatable. And they do have a warranty. If one acts odd beam splits, dims unexpectedly etc. Start the replacement process immediately.

:)
