What laser diode ae you using ?

4x1.5V batteries can be enough for a red, not for a BR laser diode.

Well it was red diode but now it is dead,i dont know how it died... :(
It was working (it self-repaired) and suddenly it died.
The power soruce was old ps1 ac adaptor. 7.5V 2A

That's a pretty rough soldering job :)

I would bet that you either didn't discharge the cap, or that there was a bad solder joint that created an issue for you.

That or -
Perhaps in moving it all around you touched the Aixiz case to the LM317 case metal? Many people don't realize that the LM317 metal case is actually the V-Out pin.

Based on the DDL circuit, if your (-) is wired to the case pin (it always is for a Red), and you touched the Aixiz case to the LM317 metal, you'll effectively create a nearly 0 ohm current setting resistor, which would then quickly dump the max current your IC and batteries can handle (and whatever that is, it would be more than a Red diode could take)

At least - that's what the visualization in my head suggests might happen.....

Thanks for heads up,
Now i taped back of lm317 with electrical tape to make sure it won't touch aixiz :)
This is my last laser diode.I hope it will not die in less than 1 year :)
