Hey guys,

I have done a little research on the diodes I have here, but can not find a definite answer.

I bought these diodes off Pontiac but he is not sure what they are. The only info he can give me is he bought them off ebay.

Which brought me to this thread

http://laserpointerforums.com/f50/685nm-35mw-laser-diodes-ebay-61309.html

Which I believe to be the same diodes.

Spec sheet here...

http://www.doylegroup.harvard.edu/wiki/images/a/ad/FLD6A2TK.pdf

Do these diodes look like the same thing?

Lastly has anyone had any experience with these diodes? Is there a PIV available on these diodes?

Cheers

I just bought a set of 3 pieces too. Just a nice laser wavelength to add to the collection.
I run out of C6 host, must buy MOAR !! :D

I've been looking at some 685nm as well. Next I just need some 635's and hosts....
Keep us posted on build updates, I'm sure you'll make some thing awesome

Yes those are the 685nm diodes.:)

Next Here is another thread on these that you missed:

http://laserpointerforums.com/f42/torturing-35mw-685nm-diode-64941.html

Pretty much dont run these diode more then 60-65mA<MAX. I stay at 62mA.

Should give you depending on what lens you use ~40mW.:)

Hope that helps.

Hehehe, I know they are 685's... but was wondering if they were the same as the 685 in the thread.

I can't wait to get these up and running... Should be by tomorrow :D

Yes they are the same diode.

I would keep it under 60mA

The black C6 host will be fine for positive build. The heatsink isn't electrically connected with the pill or the battery because of the anodization.

I build a C6 green laser with case negative and diode/sink positive and it turns out well.

i got 6x of those 670nm 9mm diodes today eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d

didn't realize they where case positive, oh well ill get my IR drivers out :)

I posted about those diodes Mitch not to long ago and just want to give you a heads up to be careful when driving them.:) They are stupid sensitive.! A 1mA swing will kill it. So make sure the Driver is Not bouncing between 2 numbers "EX. 41mA-42mA."

Ive got one in a black pen doing ~9mW>:D You can see the beam in Fog.LOL

haha good shit!

I just LED'd my first one, it was @ 8mW before it went.

What current is yours running at?

Posted to late::tinfoil: LOL

Iam running them at 58mA:

Ive see them LED anywhere from 60mA-70ma. Tested 9 of them out so there is a consistency issue.
