My first laser.

After reading lots of different post on this website, I decided to make my own laser for the fun of it. I got the idea when my friend used a simple green 5mW laser and was able to shine it quite far. So i decided to make one, since I had a LG 22x burner and an altoids tin sitting around. This website has been very informative and very helpful to it's members from what I have read. It's a simple LM317 LDD. I used 2 resistors in parallel to get an effective 3.3ohms and they are each rated at 1/2 watt. All the parts I bought from a local radio shack. It runs off 2x 18650 (3.7v @ 2500mAh each). It works very well and i hope to make a blue laser from the PHR-803T diode in a flashlight housing.

Nice job, usuing whatever you have to work with. Note that the PHR is nowhere near blue. It's a deep violet color.

Ah and thanks for the info for some reason i thought it was blueish until i saw all the pictures ;D
