Soooo.. i've been talking about the diy project CODE-RED :) to some of my friends here,
I've finally got a chance, and i have done it today..
This is my Very First Build so please be nice , a little less is also ok :p
It is a CloseCan 660nm RED at ~300mA output approximately 200mW
It runs off One 18650 2600mAh Sanyo with Unlimited Duty Cycles,
I have tested it , running for about 15 minutes and it just gets a little warm..
I wanted to make the first build concentrating more on the diode life because i want to keep it for as long as its possible.. :)
I made another labby , LPC long open can, at ~457mA 300mW and i didnt notice much of a difference in burning, but the beam is about 20% less brighter, and yes i can live with that with same happiness :p
Thanks for the advices y'all but i think im not as good as most of you ppl arround here, but just to be  i did it without much tools :S as i have quite a few equipments.. but i am sure i didnt leave anything out and build it pretty much the way it could possibly be ..awesome :D imo :$

Don't put yourself down yet.
You are far beyond me in hands-on application of information received.
I haven't even started building anything yet. Maybe when my son gets a little older.

And you even included a beamshot !
You are off to a great start.
+1

No kidding eh? What's the hurdle to a first build?

"What's the hurdle to a first build?"

A few more buck$ and a place where, if I can't finish it off, that it won't be "disturbed" before I get back to it. Right now it is more a case of how long it takes to get back to it...I would rather spend the time with my young son while he's young enough to still want me around. It won't last near as long as I might like it to and then I can go back to my own fun. And he might be old enough to take an interest too ! So far he seems to be a very clever little kid. (Sometimes a bit too clever if you know what I mean.)

But we always like to reward good efforts.
And bonuses to anyone with beam shots !

I agree, If you dont have a place of your own where nobody interferes or moves your stuff.. i get really pissed off when my maid cleans the room and messes up the stuff which is in progress, like today i woke up and it was all "CLEAN" , a bit more of "F*** UP" rather than clean.. and i just told her i like it "dirty" let it be where it is :p :S
