Here is my completed labby style laser. The rckstr driver is set @ 390mA and it has its own heatsink. I am using a Long Open Can diode, I have a mini cooling fan, vented port holes, green On indicator led. The cooling fan is running off of 2 CR2 primaries and the LOC is power by the portable Energizer cell phone charger.

<---- was expecting to see another boring radioshack project box labby.

That looks nice though! GJ

With all that heatsinking and cooling i bet you could run that diode at much higher current!

Good work, man. Your builds just keep on coming!

Keep it up, what's your next project?

I was thinking about a 7 colored laser, but then I thought instead of using a red, green, and blu ray, lasers I put in 3 8x diodes so when all 3 8x's are powered on the beam should be very powerful, but I'm no laser expert so maybe some thoughts from you guys will help.

thanks, Sarge

It's always amazing to see some of the nice builds on here. With a little care, you have one that looks like a newer StarTrek phasor !!!

I like how you use different types of hosts for your builds, and not plain ordinary ones either. You may want to consider posting a pic of your "rainbow" in that thread (multimedia section).
