So I extracted a red laser ( I assume) from a 24x dvd rw drive,I have not yet tried to see if its works I have to "clear the 3 pins" and I'm wondering about these things: Battery voltage?,will there be a beam when I turn it on? how long can I run it for? [i'm epic noob ]

can I get a collimating lens for this to work or i havvvvvveeeeeeeeee to get the aixiz module? cus for me I wish to keep cost low

Where do you think to put the lens ? You will need the Aixiz module for attaching the lens.

Do some research, a quick search in google for aixiz module would have returned many results.

Yes, a burning laser is VERY easy to make from a laser pen.

First you take the laser pen.
Then you pour lighter fluid on it.
Then you light it on fire with a lighter.
and just like that you have a BURNING LASER!

Cool, right?

They are ALL OVER ebay. It's very easy to get one with a credit card and an ebay account. Unless of course you're not credit-card age in which case you shouldn't have a laser.

Lasers are not weapons. If you want a weapon go buy a knife. The world does not need another imbecile with a laser.

Your sarcasm is amusing but seriously can I make one with a beam the one that burns at any distance without the aixiz lens?

You would have a longer reach with a flame from a lighter than a diode that is not collimated.
