Well, I finished my first MXDL home build with a Phazor, glass aixiz, rkcstr 400ma driver and jayrob heatsink

Peak at about a minute was 247.00 on the LPM-1 stablized at around 244 and then bounced around a little, but back up from the high 230's to 245 and stablized again for a while.

I used arctic silver with the heatsink, it doesn't feel warm even after a minute or so on. It's a lot of ma's so over time, I'll see how it holds up.

Quite happy with it for now.

what are the advantages for a Phazor instead of a open can?

Perfect, I bet you're having a ton of fun with this. [smiley=evil.gif]

There aren't any advantages, the only thing I can think off is that the Phazors are closed can diodes which makes them a bit stronger (physically) than the open cans, but the long open cans are a bit more powerful than the phazors.

I had an older laser I bought from laser-man uk but the casing got loose and I did something, it went from about 200mw down to 80mw. I still have it, but it's nice having a good burner again.

BTW

I thought the phazors had a different wavelength/pattern?

Really? I thought they were around 660nm like all the other diodes. I don't know since I didn't pay that much attention to the Phazor GB thread. (off to read the thread..........)

Good job on that build man! Keep up informed about how the Phazor diode holds up at that current...
