I know this diode has been around a while but never did do a testing thread on it so here is one for testing and general discussion on it.:)







Divergence
300mW ML520G71 VS 500mW ML501P73




G-2 67.98mm @ 25 Feet
Three Element Lens 36.32mm @ 25 Feet

What is the percentage of power loss next to the G2?

Nice test thread DTR. Would you consider this power output the norm?

It looks like this is a really efficient diode. You don't see many of them hit 1w at 1.2 amps.

Not sure. This is just a random diode but I always suggest staying under 1A in current. Some can take it but some will pop over 1A and of course they red shift and there is loss of life running them over 1A.:beer:

Great info :)

I have been buying these from Jordan for quite a while now ... they always do around 1W with a G2 at around 1A-1.2A.
