Pman, I have said I don't have experience with the 826s, but I got 365 mW out of a 840 with the current set below 400 mA. I believe you when you tell me that you can push an LPC-826 to 600+ mA, but my point is I get to 400 mW with far less current than that. I'm going to try to get well over that power on my next LPC-840 build. If I am able, that seems like a pretty good reason to go with at least the 836 if not the 840 as you have said the top of the mark with the 826 is a little 400 mW.

Hi Paul,
With my experience with the one 840, and what I've read in threads (there's a whole thread on it) I would NOT push past 400ma's and 400 is questionable. Wish I would have read the thread before setting mine.
Oh, the reason I'm going with the 826 is price

I understand Paul. If I had an 826 not already used I would test it and see where I hit the 400mW mark with my power supply.
It sounds like the 840 will get to and stick the 400mW mark.
I looked back at my Ebay purchases after thinking about what I said and that was a goof. I paid $18.98 for 5 not 10. Sorry about that.
Noticed that you can buy a 100 of them for about $3 each. I wonder if that US seller with both the 826 and 150mW 405nm does that since he always seems to have around that many before he sells out and has to reorder. I know 150mW doesn't sound like so much but that's plenty for a pocket burner.
Jeff, I never saw that Sinners build. That's a beaut!

Yeah,
You could probably message them and get a better price on 100. Would be a nice gb if enough were intrested, shipping on individual orders would be cheap

Hi Bow,
Got to love that fat, nasty beam! Very nice build you have there,
Thanks for the link

Thanks VV! That's not a fat beam, it's a "voluptuous" beam!

Jeff, I never saw that Sinners build. That's a beaut!

Thanks Pete, I just went back and looked, it's been over 2 yrs. since I build that MS-SSW; it reminds me that sinners hosts are a thing of the past also. :cryyy:
