MagLite 240mW DIY or DX 200mW Reds?

The maglite mod is an obvious SCAM ::) At least the dilda lazor has some sort of driver, probably doesn't put out the 200mW promised but then again, NO WAY is the modded maglite spiting out 245mW :p

Yeah there is no way the MagLite is putting out 245mW, the diodes in those MagLites are from SenKat, so they are for either 12x or 16x DVD burners. If they are putting out 245mW, it will be dead after 5 minutes of playing with it. Definitely go with the DX one.

Well, the 200mW from DX is not too proven yet. I'd wait 1-2 weeks before really deciding :D

Dude, it's a no brainer....everybody knows that the maglite mod is "bad". I'm guessing he uses a 16x diode, and there's not a chance in hell he's getting 245mW out of a 16x diode with 2 AAs.Even if he did , it would probably live a few days tops. ::) Besides that 245 figure is probably off the top of his head, as he probably doesn't have testing equipment.You'll probably get a 140-150mW-ish laser that will last a couple of weeks. Just don't give that guy your money, you'll regret it.If he's a forum member, I wonder what he has to say about this ::)

Kenom was selling a GENUINE 250mW laser in his kickass barrel with drlava's kickass driver, with a 3 month warranty....but it was close to $300 :p

55 bucks is to cheap for a good high powered red. I think you should wait for everyone else to get the red lasers from DX and see how they perform, if they're good then buy one.

not sure yet, still tweaking to make sure its a good laser and wont go wrong after 30 seconds

same small silver pen

focusable glass lens, the only down side is batteries!
