LPC-815 diode driver?

Hello guys,
I am planning to make an LPC-815 laser. I know where to get the diode(hightechdealz?) but i do not kow where to get a driver that is already adjusted ad fit forthis diode. can anybody help?

What about the battery configuration ? One or two 3.7V cell.
You need to know that before choosing the driver.

Why do you confuse the poor guy? DIRECT DRIVE is the way to go. Just attach the diode leads to a 32600 5000 mAh kaidomain cell and you are good to go.

Silvershot, i dont think that kaidomain's cell has enought juice,
if you want more power from your diode you should simply connect
the diode to a 9V battery

^^^ unless I missed something these suggestions even jokingly used to be frowned upon.

@kilter u could just use the rckstr driver offered at the hightech site or u could look up laser66 website and order his groove2 (it is a groove 2) look alike. Search on how to set that driver... for the red I would suggest ramping up the current to your liking LPC-815 400mA or so.

I am also curious which of the existing drivers could power LPC-815 diode with one cell.
I have used flexdrive v5 before. Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, I'm just back from a long brake from lasers, and alot has changed since then.

A low voltage drop driver could power a red diode with one cell. A driver with AMC7135 could do that but only at 350mA. Or the ST-driver.

Sorry I forgot to mention the current. Is there any driver that can supply 450mA-500mA from one cell. I guess it has to be a low dropout buck driver? Perhaps one of the existing Buck drivers could be modified?

PS. I was also thiknking perhaps two parallel amc7135 could b used to get 700mA of current and than dropping 200mA somhow. Again electronics is not my strong suite so any help is appreciated.

I made a LPC-815 build in a C6 as my first build, and I used a 395mA GhostDrive2. According to my calculations, that gives about 300mW.
It's a great little driver that fits almost anywhere (I almost got it to fit into an Aixiz module, but my heatshrink was too loose), and GhostChrome is a great guy to deal with. It requires 7.4V though, which wasn't a problem for me, but what host are you thinking of using?

Also, you're correct, don't connect the diode directly to the battery. Never done it myself, but that's because I figured doing what I was told was better than risking a diode.

I'm thinking of using a dx true 5mw laser host. I know that the duty cycle will be very short, but i still like the host and the prodject.

I also used the GhostDrive2 set at 395mA with 2x CR123 cells.
