I was fascinated by the pics taken by a LPF member with his "Orion HV Series 635nm Red Handheld Laser". I also want something like that but can´t pay something like 1000 $. Are there any cheaper red pointers around with equal visibility? Burning abilities are not important. THX

Thx but I still know the Z-Bolt, Atlasnova, Orion HV :)
I asked if anyone here owns this laser
--> 200mW and 400mW 635nm Eliminator red laser pointers

No. You asked if there were any cheaper ones like it. People have told you about cheaper ones.

Then you asked for something between the first and the Atlas. People have repeatedly failed to answer that they own any of these.

Maybe you can be the first. Buy one and you can do a review for others.

Peace,
dave

The best part about 635nm lasers is that they're rated at 635n +/- 5. This means that some will be closer to 640nm, and look like they're just bright red, and some will be closer to 630nm and look VERY orange. There is some individual variation in these from laser to laser and it's really the luck of the draw, just like the blu-rays, which largely accounts for the different stories you hear from different people about what color their laser is.

Yes you ar right! At the beginning of the thread I was asking for a cheaper 635nm than the OrionHV. But this was just a time ago!
I was interested in the 30mw version of this laser but could also nothing read about them.
For me, as a student, it is to much money buy a pig in a poke from a company nobody knows. But I´ve already tried to contact them, I´m going to post it here when there is any progress!

^if I may add my 2cents... Buylaserpointer is an unknown site... Not many/any people have had exp with them... They speak poor, broken English and offer "cheap" laser pointers at prices matched by the rest of the market... And that eliminator is a style of host I've never seen... If I were you, i'd either save up and go with Orion, or just settle with atlasnova's 5mW. Other options include; buying a green laser from rayfoss that's reliable and waaay cheaper (also green is better than 635!!! If it's visibility you're in it for...) or if burning is your niche, there's o-like.com's great dilda! It's ~180-220mW or 650nm burning power for 50$... All of your options have just been served on this silver platter of happy laser pointer goodness *hands to you*

What do you think about the 200/400mW 635nm on buylaserpointer?

If you are nervous about the seller, try contacting Viasho or CNI directly. You'd likely get a beter rate from them anyway. You could also join Scopeguy's group buy and get them from the source at a discount as well. That's what I think..

They don´t know neither the company nor the laser. It´s simply to risky for me to cash more than 250€ for a laser/company nobody knows...
This 30mW 635nm Red Laser Pointer also looks interesting. It costs $65, maybe I can get a better price due reviewing it.

I for one would be very interested in seeing the results of a review on that.

When the owner gives me a good price I´ll be glad in reviewing this laser. I´ve already contacted "Traveller" cause I don´t have a LPM yet. Second option is the physiks institute at my university. I´ll write here ASAP if there is progress of negotiations!

I had meant for you to contact CNI or Viasho and buy directly from them. They are manufacturers of high-quality portable lasers, and probably one of them made the 635nm portable in your link.

As I wrote above, they both don´t know company and eliminator laser.
Also asked for alternatives + waiting for the 635nm price at Glenn´s GB.

They were suggested is possible ALTERNATIVES as well.. but you obviously don't really want any help here.. just what is it you do want?

Look, man.. clearly you've got your heart set on that laser, so BUY IT already!!! You've been given several responses as alternatives, all of which you've rejected. Obviously no one has experience with that specific laser from that specific website. Are we supposed to keep giving you more suggestions to reject? I've got better things to do with my time. good luck with your search

Lol what is your problem? I can´t follow you!
Thank you for the info to contact Viasho and CNI directly, I told you that I have to wait for their response on alternatives to the Orion HV. The Z-Bolt and the Atlasnova are quite nice lasers, but 5mW are too less. I found this eliminator and asked if someone knows the site or laser, "Woodofcville" told me about their bad support. I found the 30mW 635nm on saillasers (looking for a good deal) and waiting for GB price for the CNI products.
So there is nothing to add or worried about ElektroFreak ^^
