Is this a long open can diode?

Ok...I bought and opened a sony optiarc yesterday just to find plastic rectangular diodes. So, this time I am going to ask if this burner has the correct long open can diode? Also, is it easy to harvest? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827129018R

The Optiarc model for the long open can diode, is 7190A for future purchases...

That 115D drive has the long open can as well. On the harvest of the 115D, you will have to remove the diode from it's stock little heatsink. Here's a picture and a little 'walk through'. :

i did the same thing. this plastic diode thing is crap. i sent the rest of those dvd burners back for a refund (not the one i took apart tho, hah)

Yer me too, I had an extra 30 bucks at the computer shop and couldn't decide between a 115D or optiarc. My bad luck i guess. I didn't realise there were different model aptiarc's.

free shipping on this one, its a 22x burner. with what you're paying on shipping, you'll only end up paying two more dollars for quite a bit more mW's
