I'm not promissing anything... I'm just saying that IF this is THE sled, that is found in the drive commonly referred to as the 6x, then there will be a nice long can red in there.

BTW, that elongated can really looks funky.. It's so unusual to look at, and after that, normal diodes look strange.. :D

I decanned the one, that was shined into a mirror... I would have to compare it to a regular short can 16x diode under a scope to say anything for sure, because naked it doesn't look special.

Igor says that there is a long closed can diode in a 6x sled! (I ordered one W00T!) Does anybody have a picture of this diode? Or can you take a picture, If you have one?

Repz for the pic.  ;)

Here they are while still in their heat sinks ;)

Wait... That isn't your picture! It's Gooeygus's picture!

Do you have a picture of it out of the heat sink?

It is the blu-ray, the red, and the IR diode from the 6X sled

Does anyone have a picture showing the diodes in the sled? (So I know which diode is which ::))

Wow, so we will get 1x >200mW (probably more) violet diode , 1x >250mW closed can diode AND an IR diode.  All of that for only 55 bucks...Now thats just crazy.

I can't wait to see how far you push these things. ;D

Just the fact that I can get a 6x blu-ray for $55, sold me. ;D

I was hesitant at first but the dilda-like LD in there justified the purchase for me, because that way if I fry the 6x I only fried a $35 diode instead of a $55 diode. ;D

I know this is off topic but our 6x LDs will be able to burn from really far distances. Correct me if I am wrong but 405nm can be dialed down to lower divergences than 660nm because of the shorter wavelength, so that means longer burning distances!

But also because of the uber-short wavelength, it scatters more or something
I think that is right
