Just completed another active cooled unit this time it's in LOC 650nm.
I was able to put a little twist on it though. This unit will run at its pre-set 444mA and then when it's to hot you can shut it down and let the sunon fan just run cooling it during it's "off" duty cycle.
If thats not good enough then you could run the fan with the unit lazing
or if your batt. are starting to feel the drain of all that fun you could just laze.
How can this be done... How is jander doing this, well it's as simple as pie.
First you need this host. It's from Home Dep*t only 2.00 something
it housed a LED along with 5mW red. Runs off of 3AAA.
The action from the host to go in between the red and LED took the wiring burden from me. Although I didn't trust the crappy resisting diodes in the unit I replaced them with some meatier ones
There is a double spring in the driver board
here some pics of my heat sink/ active cooling module.
Double sided 3M thermal tape holding the driver on... very strong stuff
I hogged out the lens assembly from the LED for the pill housing the fan.
The bottom one is the same thing only shaved down to the size you see.
Notice the drilled holes under the brass compression nut.
The things sings like crazy. I'm using a Groove 2 driver "thank you dr".
and run times are TBA. I haven't tried running Li-primaries yet thats the next move.
Battery configurations are next. I tried 3 10440 in parallel and that seems the best for now.
I was looking for the mic on the phone. I wish it would have turned out how I wanted it to
Thank you for looking fellow LPF members:thanks:
