Everything on that site is a piece of junk. Unless you are looking for a unique paper weight, stay away from them.

I suggest buying a laser from someone on this forum. They are usually made MUCH better than anything you can buy from a company

Don't buy from LAZERER, if you read on the forums there have been tons of threads on the forums about people purchasing from them & not receiving their lasers(receiving under-spec lasers).

They used to be on my list since I personally had an OK experience with them but lately people have not received anything or received brokeb items so I removed them completely. Id say buy from a forum member or if you want to go through a company then go with LaserBTB. Theire hosts are boring as heck and tons of people have them but they tend to be solidly built and kevin is helpful

Red Laser Pointer with Lighting Cigars Function

LOL!

Anyway, that red laser is probably near 200mW, but for astronomy lower power reddies such as these are horrible since beams are not easily seen.

50mW green will be far more visible, and cost about as much (or even less).

A 200 mw Red ain't too shabby, despite it rated at 500mw. As Lazerpoint apparently greatly overstates the true output it is not a company that I wish to do business with.

I am most impressed with Laserbtb...they offer a 130mw 635nm Laser (model LP 635-130) that would be equivalent to a 300mw+ 650nm. Under dark skies the red beam should be pretty easy to "pick-up". Has anyone tried one?

As far as I am concerned they seem unreputable and cannot be trusted...

laserbtb? They are reputable. Sure, the products won't be top-notch but they do what they need to without any problems. Their shipping is extraordinary too, the "AirMail" feature they list which takes 10-14 days to arrive, only took me 5 days to arrive when I both both a laser & a tripod from them!

I see you have a 635nm & a 654nm Lasers...I have read that the 635nm is 2.5 brighter than the 654nm, assuming both have the same mw output...can you comment on that please? The reason I ask is that I use Laser in my hobby..Astronomy... I am thinking that a 130mw 635mw Laser would be as bright as a powerful 300mw 650nm Laser, when used as a pointer in a dark night sky.

I use my 660nm LPC-826 based laser for astronomy purposes(325mw or so)

How well can you pick up that beam on that LPC-826 in a dark sky?

In complete darkness it's not a issue to see the beam. And the people standing close will be able to see it as well but the more off angle you are to the beam the harder it is to see.

If you want to see a beam buy a 532nm green.

200mW 650nm red while you can see it , will be very weak and except on a foggy night

Even a low mW 50-100mW green will be an impressive beam
