So I got an LPC-826 from cajunlasers (which, by the way, is awesome... they sent me warning stickers and an extra 18650 with my order which came in 3 days), put it in an aixiz module, put it in my vice, and hooked it up to a variable power supply at ~400ma. It worked great for a while until I moved one of the mini grabbers hooked to the diode and accidentally touched it to the vice, shorting the connection. When I turned it back on it had clearly LED'd--whoops! Luckily it was a pretty cheap diode, good thing this didn't happen with my 445

Is there a good way to remove the diode so I can reuse the module?

Well the diode is shot so couldn't you just tap it out with something? Unless you don't want to damage your broken diode, lol.

just stick it into the vice, gently tap the face of the diode and it will come out eventually, what is the problem you are actually having?

alrighty thanks... I wasn't sure if I could salvage the diode for anything but that seems worthless the more I think about it :)

Murderer....... :D just kidding. Ya good thing it wasn't a expensive diode. Like Lotus said, since it doesn't matter if it gets damaged more just tap it out with anything.

just a side note, at that current without a heatsink, it may burn itself out.

Yep chuck that diode in the bin.

Oh and your avatar is quite funny :)

Hey - don't worry about it. I kill diodes all the time =p I just generally assume I will kill 50% of 'em, so I always buy two ^_^ XD

I Have already kill:

5x 445nm Diodes
8x LPC-826
2x 12x 405nm
And couple of these cheap Diodes.
