I ordered the "Cute" 250 mw 650nm laser from O-like. this is my first laser over 5mw. I honestly know very little and i want to make sure i take good care of it and use it safely and properly. What would this laser be capable of? From what ive read it should be a good burning laser. And i live in Louisville Kentucky. from what ive read of o-like's delivery on here it varys BIGTIME what should i expect. :thanks:

EDIT; I paid the $8 "best" shipping

You should expect to wear some glasses 8).
Seriously, these things will burn matches, pop baloons, burn right through your retina!
Safety is a big concern around here, please follow our warnings. I can guarantee you, some of the "Less educated" members around here are wearing an eye patch right now. :tsk:

Moving on to the laser!
250mw of 650. Yep, pretty powerful. Some people say they can hardly see the beam on the 650s, but because I can't perceive low wavelengths well, I can see the beam on a 20mw 650 laser.

If it didn't come with a battery, you can probably find what it runs off of in the description, ultrafire sells some quality batteries. Rechargeable batteries are preferred, they are most definitely worth it.

If it is focusable, if you focus it down to a fine point (or "infinity"), it will burn like a MONSTER.

HOWEVER, if you are looking to buy a laser for visibility, a 10mw green will fare you well!

I hope those work well for you. The review on the website seems sketchy.

If they aren't, I recommend ZoneStealth's glasses. The website looks like crap, but their glasses are great.

I found a link to the ZoneStealth Goggles: Protection Glasses for 650nm Red Laser

Looks like their prices went up. I think I only spent around $18 when I got mine a year ago. (They're $29 now, but are still excellent!)

Those are fancy!

AT OP: Just treat it like a weapon as far as safety is concerned. It have literally blind a person permanently in the blink of an eye....pun intended

Chinglish, or a typo? Just curious where you're from, buddy? We don't take too kindly to SPAMMERS around here. You better watch yourself. Don't wanna be :banned: now, do we?

But, yes. They are very fancy. I love 'em! I just wish their website was upgraded a bit because as it stands, it looks like a scam to get money.

"Funny" is that a lot of people buy a laser and start thinkg about what they just bought after. Anyway, better later than never

Make sure to get some good goggles, like from laser2go or Jetlasers.

Oh hey the batts that come with this little burner are 3.6v. The 3.0v battes will work but will not have the same output. just a thought for you.

I have this laser. All in all, it's a good laser.

It's not 250mw. Spec says it's > 220mw but it can be lower than that.

Laser is focusable and can burn a match easily. I managed to burn a match 4 meters distance with the laser well focused.

Goggles are must. You can buy a good pair here:

Laser Glasses - Red laser beam protection 600-740nm :: Laser Safety :: Dragon Lasers

For the next time, no need to pay the $8 "best" shipping. This is no better than the regular 5$ shipping.
